ReGenesis: Emergence III

Original impasto micro-painting from the evolving ReGenesis series by Sarmed Mirza.

This 2 × 3 inch oil painting surfaced during the development of the larger 204-piece ReGenesis installation presented at the Royal Scottish Academy as part of the Society of Scottish Artists 127th Annual Exhibition.

Each piece functions as both a complete painting and part of a wider evolving ecosystem of forms, textures, and possible life.

This work suggest forms suspended somewhere between emergence and disappearance.

Built through layers of oil paint, gesture, and accumulation, the work invites close looking and slow attention. Though intimate in scale, each piece carries the presence of a much larger world.
